Terms and Conditions for Hurtigruten are below:

1. The Promoter is Hurtigruten Australia Pty Ltd. Suite 401, 477 Collins Street, Melbourne, 3000. ABN 76 635 040 032

2. There are three separate Prizes as listed below. Each winner receives one Prize (to be determined on the event night, with one of each Prize to be given away to three separate winners): 

   • 1 x 12 days, 11 nights itinerary on the Classic Roundtrip (Bergen to Bergen), valued from $4,155 per person twin share in an unspecified Polar Outside cabin, as of 8 September 2023.

   • 1 x 9* days, 8 nights itinerary on The North Cape Express (Half Voyage from Bergen to Tromso), valued from $4,480 per person twin share in an unspecified Polar Outside cabin, as of 8 September 2023. 

   • 1 x 11* days, 10 nights itinerary on The Svalbard Express (Northbound from Bergen to Svalbard), valued from $6,509 per person twin share in an unspecified Polar Outside cabin, as of 8 September 2023. 

   The prize includes accommodation in an unspecified Polar Outside Cabin; all meals (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner at the main restaurant), and selected non-alcoholic beverages during meal times. Prize ‘from’ price may be subject to fluctuation as Hurtigruten Norwegian Coastal Express has a flexible pricing system and all prices are capacity-controlled and subject to availability. 

   *Please note: If the prize winner books less than 90 days before their chosen departure date, their itinerary total day duration will be as follows and will not include the pre and post-accommodation component:

   • The North Cape Express (Half Voyage from Bergen to Tromso): 7 days

   • The Svalbard Express (Northbound from Bergen to Svalbard): 8 days

3. The prize must be redeemed for a departure date before 31 March 2025.

4. Inclusions are as outlined in the below itineraries:  

   • Classic Roundtrip (Bergen to Bergen)

   • The North Cape Express (Half Voyage from Bergen to Tromso) 

   • The Svalbard Express (Northbound from Bergen to Svalbard)

5. Exclusions, anything not listed in the above.

6. It is a condition of accepting a prize that the winner accepts the conditions of use of the Prize.

7. Cabins are subject to availability and block-out dates may apply depending on availability. If your chosen date does not have an unspecified Polar Outside Cabin available, you can look at the option to pay the difference to a higher cabin class or choose a new date of departure.  

8. The Prize excludes transfers to and from domestic or international airports unless specified.

9. No payments will be made for any costs associated with claiming the prize

10. All references to time in this document are a reference to the local time in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia on the date stated

11. No compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize as stated

12. The Prize must be taken as offered, is subject to availability, and is non-refundable, non-transferable, and not redeemable for cash or any other goods or services. The prize cannot be resold. The Prize cannot be transferred to any other person unless agreed to by the Promoter. 

13. The Prize excludes purchases on board the ship (e.g. including but not limited to beverages, spa, shopping), meals off the ship, optional tours, travel insurance, tips and gratuities, spending money, transport from Winner’s home to and from departure airport or port, visas, passports and vaccinations

14. If any prize (or part of any prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification

15. The trip may be supplemented with upgrades and additional arrangements outside of the itinerary, at the winner’s own expense

16. If any act, omission, event, or circumstance occurs that is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms and conditions, the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations. The Promoter reserves the right (subject to any applicable law) to cancel, terminate or modify, or suspend this promotion

17. The Promoter, its related bodies corporate, and their respective officers, employees, contractors, and agents (Promotion Parties) will not be liable for any losses, damages, expenses, costs, or personal injuries arising out of this promotion, the promotion of this promotion or the use of any prize, including but not limited to any breach of these terms and conditions, contract or tort (including negligence) and any other common law, equitable or statutory remedy (Damages) whatsoever, including but not limited to direct, indirect and consequential damages, including Damages that cannot reasonably be considered to arise naturally and in the ordinary course of things, even if those Damages were in the contemplation of the Promotion Parties: a) for personal injury or death suffered or sustained in connection with the supply of goods or services which are supplied by the Promoter in the ordinary course of business. To remove doubt: third-party goods or services, which other than in connection with this promotion, are in the normal course of business supplied by a third party unrelated to the Promotion Parties, are not supplied by the Promoter in the ordinary course of business; and the Promoter’s Conditions of Carriage and general booking conditions (and any exclusions contained therein) apply despite any statement to the contrary in these terms and conditions; or b) to the extent it is not permissible at law to limit or exclude liability in the manner contemplated in that clause (in which case that liability is limited to the maximum extent allowable by law).

18. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from accepting a prize. Independent financial advice should be sought

19. Receipt of a prize may have Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) implications. To the extent that there is any FBT liability, this will be paid for by the employer of the recipient. The grossed-up value of a prize and any other Fringe Benefits the recipient receives during the course of the FBT year may be reported on the recipient’s annual PAYG Payment Summary as required by taxation law

21. The Northern Lights Promise does not apply to prize winner itineraries

22. To be eligible for this prize, attendance at the venue is mandatory for the winner at the time of the draw
